BMLT is Bachelor’s Medical Lab Technology is a 4-year undergraduate course that provides students the extensive knowledge of laboratory equipment and various diagnostic procedures done in laboratories. After completing class 12th with science stream (preferably with Biology as one of your main subjects). This course is very career-oriented and is the most popular paramedical course among the students. This course is for you if you want to make a career in the management of labs and new advancements in medical labs.
The course highlights the practical learning of the laboratory equipment. Students learn how to conduct various tests, handling the equipment with essential care, collecting blood samples and information, creating reports, and other documentation. The basic knowledge of subjects like human anatomy, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, immunology & serology.
BMLT is one of the most prominent and rapidly growing courses in the field of healthcare. BMLT Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must have passed 12 standards with at least 50% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the major subjects.
- The minimum age of the candidate must be at least 17 years.
- Students who are still featuring in school and the results of their 12th standard are not announced are still allowed to apply.
- No particular entrance examination is necessary for admission to the course.

Direct Admission
No necessary entrance examination is compulsory for admission to BMLT. Admissions are usually based on the merits. After selecting the institutions from where you want to pursue BMLT, you just need to fill up the admission form and upload the required documents. The admissions are then granted based on performance in the previous academics. Although, the admission process may vary from college to college. It could be that some of the top universities may conduct entrance exams for admissions. But it is not certain and most of the colleges only take admissions based on merit.
Lateral Entry Admissions
Lateral entry is one of the popular and effective ways of pursuing your course in a shorter period of time. Using the lateral entry option, students get admissions directly into the 2nd year of the course. Although the eligibility stays the same as of the regular direct admission mode.
