Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions

Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions is recognized as one of the centres of excellence in higher education in Northern India for more than 22 years. The group has 10 institutions under its cap catering to 11,000 students in different streams with a proven record of placement for students in MNCs of higher repute. The faculty of the institution have industrial, teaching, and research experience and integrate personality development classes in the curriculum through the program. The institution is affiliated by I.K.G. Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala, and approved by AICTE.

The Bhai Gurdas Technical Education Trust was founded under the leadership of S. Hakam Singh Jawandha, a man of great vision and dynamism, and is named after the famous scholar and poet Bhai Gurdas Ji. Many educational administrators, educationists, industrialists, and well-known public figures make up the governing board of trust, all of whom have extensive expertise in developing and administering educational institutions. The trust, which is a source of pride for Sangrur's old city, has built a network of institutes. The trust is pushing on with zeal and excitement, with a clear objective of going a long way in producing professionals with scientific brilliance, inventiveness, and imagination. The trust is a source of pride in the region, and by developing human intellectual capital of worldwide standards, it is becoming a source of inspiration. The trust aspires to provide the greatest academic help possible, guiding students' careers in a positive path. Following the path of progress, Bhai Gurdas Technical Education Trust has been adding prominent learning centres to its chain year after year. The Bhai Gurdas Educational Trust created Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2002. (Regd.). The Bhai Gurdas Technical Educational Trust, Sangrur (Punjab), manages the following educational institutions:

Facilities in BGGI:

  • WiFi Facility: Wi-Fi is available across the BGGI campus. Students can use High Speed Internet Connectivity of 12 Mbps to access the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to expand their knowledge and extract e-Information from any location on campus, including classrooms and hostels.
  • Shopping Complex: To suit the culinary demands of students, a hygienic and spacious canteen with a range of foods is available. The campus offers a retail complex with a Stationery Shop & General Store, Cafeteria, Barber Shop, Laundry Shop & Photostat Shop, Juice Shop, Milk Corner, Fax & STD facilities to cater to the basic needs of the students.
  • Dispensary: The Institute maintains its own Health Centre, which provides medical assistance to students and employees on campus. Proper medical amenities including first-aid are also provided in labs and workshops of all pertinent departments, as well as hostels, to ensure the safety of the students and to reduce the danger associated (boys and girls).
  • Cafeteria and Canteen: The BGIET cafeteria is well-maintained and completely equipped to suit the culinary needs of students. It provides a haven for students who are tired of their demanding academic schedule.
  • Banking: BGGI offers a PNB branch that assists students with money transactions, such as withdrawing and depositing. It also provides students with educational loans.
  • Gymnasium: The students at BGGI work out in a gymnasium equipped with all of the latest equipment in order to stay fit and healthy.
  • Transportation: Transport facility is provided by the institute to the student & staff. The Institute runs a total of 50 buses throughout the Patiala, Samana, Nabha, Ahmedgarh, Malerkotla, Amargarh, Dhuri, Sherpur, Sindhorh, Kathala, Basaur, Barnala, Tapa, Dhanaula, MehalKalan, KattuBalian, Sunam, Chathe (Sunam), Longowal, LehraGaga, Moonak, Patran, Khanauri, Dirba, Bareta, Budhlada, Mawi Kalan (Samana), Bhawanigarh & also to the Sangrur. For this facility, the nominal charge is paid by the students.
  • Library: The central library, which is air-conditioned, is a model of library service and collection excellence. More than 67,000 titles, including a broad variety of Engineering, Management, and Polytechnic in print format, are on the shelves of this fully computerized Wi-Fi library. It is a member of DELNET and has an electronic subscription to Info Tract packages. The library also has a collection of about 500 E-books that are accessible over the internet. The Library has over 200 current publications on a variety of topics. It also houses magazines' back issues. Students can also get old question papers from the library.

Bhai Gurdas College Placement and Training Cell:

The cell is created to foster institution-industry collaboration and to help students build skills that will help them succeed in their professional careers. All of the college's engineering departments are linked to the cell. A placement committee of students from various disciplines has been formed to coordinate the activities of the placement cell.

Objectives

  1. Coordinate with HR departments of reputable industrial organizations to schedule campus interviews for placement of pre-final and final year students.
  2. Organize Project Work/Semester Industrial Training in Public/Private Sector Companies with a Good Product, Quality, and Culture. This will bring together the theoretical knowledge learned in school.
  3. Organize seminars/workshops for students' personal growth on a regular basis.
  4. It serves as a platform for industrial and academic collaboration. Eminent figures from industry and academia have been asked to provide talks on newly developed technologies and their use in industry.
  5. Arrange industrial trips for students to gain technology and industrial exposure.
  6. Create summer training programmes in industry or at a university.

 

Scholarship Program:

According to the directives of the Government of India and the Government of Punjab, meritorious students belonging to the SC/BC category, Minorities Communities are given scholarships under the following central/state government schemes:

  • Punjab and other states have a Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST/OBC students:

Criteria for eligibility: Their parents' or guardians' annual income should not exceed Rs. 2 lac. 

  • Scholarship Program for Students from Minority Communities (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, and Parsis) in Punjab and Other States:

Criteria for eligibility: The beneficiary's/or parent's guardian's annual income from all sources shall not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

  • Jammu and Kashmir students are eligible for a special scholarship programme.

Criteria for eligibility: The beneficiary's/or parent's guardian's annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs 6 lakh.

Eligible applicants may send their application in the prescribed format for grant of scholarship to the Directorate of Welfare of SCs and BCs, Punjab through the head of school/college/institute . Application form and other information for eligibility can be downloaded from the website
